Ronald Lewis Maull

Ronald Lewis Maull, born in Vincennes, Indiana on February 8, 1948, passed away on July 23. 2026 in Ocoee, Florida. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted siblings Connie Maull Buttil, John Maull, Kevin Maull, Karin Maull Benyard and Denis Maull Carbona.

Ronald spent his formative years in the Midwest before his family moved to New Jersey in 1950. He attended St Teresa’s in Runnemede, NJ, graduating in 1962, and continued his education at Triton High School. He later transferred to St Joseph High School, where he graduated in 1966. Ronald pursued higher education at Rutgers University, successfully completing a challenging five-year dual curriculum and earning both a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts.

While at Rutgers College Camden Campus, Ronald distinguished himself as an exceptional athlete, excelling on the baseball team with a .465 batting average and a .574 on-base percentage-both school records. As a pitcher, he placed third in strikeouts in the school’s history with 77 strikeouts in 1968. At Rutgers University New Brunswick, he continued to shine as a pitcher with a 2.52 earned run average, ranking ninth in school history. His commitment to both academics and athletics left a lasting impression, and he will be remembered for his drive, talent and the positive influence he had on everyone around him. He was an All Delaware Valley Conference player in 1968. His coach compared Ron’s pitching form to John “Jack” Donovan, a great Seton Hall pitcher.

Ronald’s dedication led him to serve his country. After earning his degrees, he entered Officer Training in the United States Air Force in 1971 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in May 1972. His distinguished military career spanned decades and included assignments across the United States, Europe and Asia. Highlights include his time as Top Gun Weapon System Officer in Korea, Squadron Standardization and Evaluation Officer in the Netherlands, and roles in air defense training and operational planning in Germany, Florida and Nevada. Ronald’s expertise contributed to key projects monitoring nuclear treaty compliance, strategic planning of air resources and supporting Desert Storm operations.

In 1980, Ronald experienced a profound spiritual transformation and became a Born-again Christian, dedicating his life to sharing the message of faith in Jesus Christ and the importance of being born again.

After retiring from the Air Force, Ronald continued his commitment to service as a contractor, supporting USAF operations in Germany and Qatar. As Weapon System Manager for Air Forces Central Command at Al Udeid AB in Qatar, he oversaw the operation and integration of critical systems supporting air operations in the Central Command Area of Operations.

Ronald’s exemplary service was recognized with numerous awards and medals, including the Meritorious Service Medal with six devices, Armed Forces Service Medal, Air Force Overseas Short and Long Tour Ribbons, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award, Combat Readiness Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon/Pistol, Air Force Training Ribbon, NATO Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Joint Meritorious Unit Award and the Air Force Organizational Excellence.

Ronald Lewis Maull’s legacy is defined by his unwavering dedication to his family, his faith, his nation and the countless individuals whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on September 16, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 11:00 a.m. at Blake-Doyle Funeral Home, 226 W Collings Avenue, Collingswood, NJ 08108.

Interment will follow at St Joseph Cemetery, 240 Lower Landing Road, Chew’s Landing, NJ 08012.

Cremation was held privately.
