OBITUARY
Stephen Kuhn
April 14, 1950 – January 29, 2021
Stephen Kuhn, age 70, of Collingswood, NJ, passed away on January 29th after a difficult battle with COVID-19. Steve was born on April 14, 1960 to Edward and Julia Kuhn in the Bridesburg section of Philadelphia, PA. After graduating from Frankford High School, he earned a B.S. in Mathematics at Temple University.
After graduation, he worked in various finance related roles with companies in the Delaware Valley. Steve had a passion for technology and opened his own computer consultation company, PCS Systems, Inc. in 1990. In his final years, he focused his work supporting Paterson Counseling Center, managing finance and technology.
While in college, he met Lois Garforth, and they wed in 1971, sharing 49 years of marriage together. Steve was an endlessly kind man who could always be counted on to bring a smile to your face or selflessly give his support when you needed a hand. His optimism was infectious and his presence and advice often helped people find their way to a better place. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he shared openly and spoke of fondly. Anyone who knew Steve knew that he was the most loving father, husband and brother a family could ask for.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Kuhn (Garforth); his daughter Cheryl Clarkin (Kuhn), her husband Patrick Clarkin and her children Sophia and James; his son Stephen H. Kuhn, his wife Julia Kuhn (Jacob) and his children Zoe, Fiona and Braydon; his sister Carol Tiano (Kuhn) and his brother Edward Kuhn.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation Saturday February 6, 2021, at Blake-Doyle Funeral Home, 226 W. Collings Ave, Collingswood, NJ at 11:00am- 12:00pm, followed by a Prayer Service at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Make a Wish Foundation.

I took care of Stephen often in his final weeks and days. He was vital, energetic and hilarious even in his discomfort, frustration and of course boredom, the latter of which reached a level so pure that only once hospitalized can a person truly appreciate it.
Despite those burdens, we talked often about his career and especially his family. He talked incessently about Lois, Cheryl and Stephen - all of whom he was boundlessly proud of. He was curious about me too and we discussed parenthood, life in Philadelphia and other topics close to both of our hearts.
I hope you'll forgive the anonymity of this post. In some ways it's fitting because I can tell you with total sincerity that it could have been written by several of my trusted colleagues - my good friends - who worked with him and upon whom he made a distinct impression.
I am heartbroken for this loss because if willpower and spirit could carry you home, his surely would have. I'm sorry he had to meet me, but I'm glad I met him. I do my best to remember all my patients, but Stephen I will not forget.
Thank you for trusting him with us. My love to him, to his family and friends.

My deepest condolence for the loss of Stephen, my cousin. I last had the honor to reunite and see Stephen couple years ago at Julie and Cliff’s house when my oldest son John and I came to Philadelphia. We appreciated that he came to visit us. May you find comfort in good memories like I am recalling our last visit that summer. I love you Stephen and may you Rest In Peace .

Dear Mrs. Kuhn, Cheryl, & Stephen,
Mr. Kuhn was such a kindhearted person. I have happy memories of him driving us back from the mall, movies, etc. And also of him singing with the Folk Group. All such good times! Keeping you in my prayers. God Bless.

Mr. Kuhn was like a second father to me in a lot of ways… He used to tease the living daylights out of me but always at the end of day treating me with respect and made me feel like a part of his family and like one of his kids almost from the day I met him and always made it a point to ask how I was doing when they would be huge family gatherings and make sure I was doing okay all while making a joke... Usually at my expense but with love... I’ll miss him
