Winnie was predeceased by her beloved husband of more than 60 years, Thomas Burdenski; her cherished daughter, Nancy; and her siblings. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure her memory: her children, Kathleen Frazier, Thomas Jr. (Beth), Timothy (Renee), Helen Deeley (Dan), Mary Cornatzer, and Nora, along with 11 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and countless extended family members and friends whose lives she touched.
Born and raised among the rolling green hills and shamrocks of Ireland’s west coast, Winnie carried her Irish spirit, faith, and unmistakable brogue with her throughout her life. As a young woman, she immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island alongside her sisters in search of new opportunities and adventures. She eventually settled in Philadelphia—a city she proudly embraced, often cheering on her beloved Eagles with an enthusiastic “Go Birds!”
Winnie worked for an insurance company in Philadelphia before meeting the love of her life, Tom. Together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and devotion. Over six decades of marriage, Winnie followed Tom across numerous states and homes, creating warmth and stability wherever they landed. She raised seven children with boundless love, unwavering dedication, and a kitchen that was always full. Family gatherings were made special by her homemade meals, especially her famous coleslaw and the much-discussed (and occasionally begrudgingly eaten) frog legs.
Above all else, Winnie was devoted to her family. She loved fiercely and unconditionally, taking pride in every child, grandchild, and great-grandchild. Her home was a place of comfort and welcome, where visitors could always count on finding a full candy bowl waiting on the coffee table and a warm conversation close at hand.
Her Catholic faith and Irish heritage were cornerstones of her life. She delighted in sharing stories of Ireland, raising a glass with family and friends, and breaking into a spirited Irish song whenever the occasion allowed. With her quick wit, infectious laugh, and vibrant personality, Winnie was often the life of the party and brought joy to every gathering she attended.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, the legacy of love, laughter, faith, and family that Winnie created will live -on for generations. May the road rise up to meet her, and may she rest in eternal peace, reunited with those who went before her.
She will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever Irish.
