Ada I. Gingerich

Ada, a twin, was born August 6, 1928 in Kalona, Iowa to Lewis and Magdalena Ropp. She was married to Ivo Lewis Gingerich on November 21, 1948.

She is survived by one son, Loren (Bonnie); three daughters, Grace (Leonard) Ernst; Rosalie (Bryan) Hoover; Linda (Nelson) Livengood; one son-in-law, Fred Martin; one daughter-in-law Phyllis Gingerich; one brother, Vernon Ropp; three sisters, Edith Helmuth (her twin); Martha Bender; Verda Swartzendruber; 12 grandchildren, Christopher Ernst; Kevin (Jess) Ernst; Michael (Hannah) Martin; Jared Martin; Mikayla Martin; Jason (Krista) Gingerich, Jeff (Amanda) Gingerich; Amber (David) Crispell; Kara Hoover; Nolan (Celeste) Livengood, Janna Livengood (fiancé David Barley); Logan Livengood; and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ivo; daughter, Myrna Martin; son, Merlin Gingerich; brothers, Ernest and Omar; sisters, Esther; Lydia Gingerich; Mary Jane; Ella Mae and Effie Baer.

Ada was a homemaker, enjoyed quilting, reading, playing games (especially Scrabble), writing poems, a good laugh and spending time with family.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 1 – 3 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m., both at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
