Andrew was an adventurous and thoughtful soul with a deep curiosity about the world around him. He loved trying new foods, math, music, and gaming, and was one of the most inquisitive people you could meet—always asking questions and often offering his own creative solutions. He had a wonderful sense of humor, often dry and perfectly timed, that caught people by surprise and stayed with them.
Andrew was born on August 31, 2002, in Clearwater, Florida, and spent his early childhood discovering the world with a remarkable mind. From a very young age, he showed an unusual ability to solve puzzles and grasp concepts well beyond his years.
When Andrew was two, he moved with his family to Lakewood, Colorado. Not long after, he was identified as being on the autism spectrum—something that became part of his story, but never the sum of who he was. He excelled academically, often amazing family, teachers, and friends with his intelligence, focus, and unique way of thinking.
Andrew loved video games and especially loved playing them with others. Some of his happiest times were spent gaming with friends, particularly his childhood best friend, Jared Mata, with whom he shared countless hours of laughter and connection.
In 2012, Andrew moved with his family to Colorado Springs, where he quickly embraced music. He studied piano through the Suzuki method alongside his sister Emily and went on to participate in bands and orchestras throughout elementary, middle, and high school. Most notably, he fully embraced his Liberty Lancer Marching Band community from his sophomore year through graduation. He was also involved in Boy Scouts through his Arrow of Light ceremony. His aptitude for math continued to shine—so much so that he took high school–level math classes while still in middle school and later attended math courses at a local community college while still in high school.
Andrew had a deep love for animals, especially big cats. At home, he shared a special bond with the family cat, Kuskus, but his greatest affection was reserved for the family’s Goldendoodle, Honey. Andrew loved her fiercely and was often her biggest advocate, reminding the rest of the family that she deserved even more love and attention.
Andrew graduated from Liberty High School in 2021, a time shaped heavily by the challenges of the COVID pandemic. In late 2023, he began working as a Lab Technician at Microchip, Inc., where he particularly enjoyed the night shift through early 2025. Andrew was fascinated by how things were made and was actively seeking a future in the technology manufacturing industry.
Andrew is survived by his father Malcolm, mother Rebecca, his two sisters Emily and Olivia, his grandmothers Carol, Jeri, Christean, and Sharilyn, Uncle Mark (Pam), Aunt Mary (Dave), Aunt Melody (Garry), Aunt Lisa (Basil), Aunt Voni (Doug), Uncle Scott (Jill), Aunt Wendy (BJ), Aunt Sita (Monica), Uncle Matt and cousins Angela, Nathan, Jessica, Rachel, Jon, Aaron, Chad, Michael, Travis, Basil, Dimitri, Nikolai, Chantal, Cheyenne, Dillon, Emma, Brittney, Doria, Grace, John, Jordyn, and Clayton. He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Leland, Robert, and Frank, his Aunt Pam, and his cousin Grant.
A memorial service celebrating Andrew’s life will be held at Mountain Springs Church in Colorado Springs on February 1, 2026, at 2:00 PM. All are welcome to join family and friends in remembering Andrew and honoring the life he lived. Light refreshments will follow immediately after the service at the church.
In place of flowers or gifts, the family invites those who wish to honor Andrew’s memory to consider donating to organizations that support mental health awareness and the well-being of animals—two causes that reflect both the challenges Andrew faced and the compassion he carried.
