Ann was delivered in the hospital by her 61-year old grandmother during the height of the baby boom in Pauls Valley, OK on June 17, 1947 to Alton and Mildred Perry. She graduated from Marietta High School, OK, and received her bachelor’s degree in Radio TV and Speech with a Teacher’s Certification from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK in 1968. Ann married Marvin William Wooten on June 5, 1968 in the USMA Cadet Chapel, West Point, NY.
Ann served as a social worker upon graduation and volunteered in many roles at many locations during her husband Marv’s distinguished twenty-year military career. Upon Marv’s seminary graduation in 1991, Ann and Marv led the Officers’ Christian Fellowship (OCF) ministry at West Point for six years. They then served from 1997-2005 as the Executive Director couple of Military Community Youth Ministries (MCYM), headquartered in Colorado Springs.
Ann is known for her smile, joyful spirit, always encouraging those around her, and most especially her deep love for Jesus Christ, whom she knew as her personal Savior since age 7. She actively served at Vanguard Church, the Officers’ Christian Fellowship (OCF) Home Office, Protestant Women of the Chapel (PWOC), and mentored many women across the country.
She took her greatest enjoyment from being with family and various church fellowship groups. Ann is survived by her children Colin Wooten, wife Amy Wooten, Cameron Germann, husband Brian Germann, Miriam Harris, husband Jeff Harris, and Sam Wooten. Ann’s nine grandchildren include Caroline, Eric, and Ian Wooten, Cambria Tsoutsas and husband Samuel Tsoutsas, Anna, and Benjamin Germann, Kate and Kaia Fair, and Braxton Harris.
