

Anna Marie Avila, a lifelong resident of the Pikes Peak region entered into eternal rest on January 22nd 2016 at the Pikes Peak Inpatient Hospice in Colorado Springs with her family by her side. She was 92 years young and left a legacy of love with every member of her family and her friends.
Anna was born on August 30th 1923 to Luis Rodriguez and Martha Rodriguez of Wigwam, Colorado. They later moved to Fountain, Colorado where Anna graduated as Valedictorian in 1941 at Fountain High School. Anna married the love of her life, Jesus M. Avila Jr. and started a family while they were stationed in his various assignments with the U.S. Air Force. They settled in Colorado Springs after his retirement in 1965.
Anna was a loving wife and mother that always kept the needs of her family first in her life. She was one of the founding members of St. Joseph Southgate Catholic Church and is still part of that family. She is survived by her Husband and World War II Veteran Jesus M. Avila, her four children Rebecca, Rita (Alan), Michael (Juanita), and Robert (Darci). Grandchildren, Aubrey (Chad), Adam, Timothy, Teresa (Benjamin), Christopher (Becky), Phillip, Jennifer, Jessica (Jonathan), Robert Junior, and Andres, and great grandchildren Sophia, Sicilia, Santino, Cameron, Elias, Liam, Marley, Avianna and Owen.
