Annette will be remembered most for her extraordinary kindness, unwavering faith, and the genuine love she shared with everyone she met. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel seen, heard, and valued, whether offering thoughtful advice to family and friends or brightening a strangers day with a sincere compliment. Her generous heart knew no limits, and she celebrated lifes moments—both big and small—with joy, encouragement, and thoughtful gifts that reflected how deeply she cared.
A devoted wife for 42 years, Annette built a beautiful life centered on faith, family, and service. She lovingly dedicated many years to raising her two daughters as a stay-at-home mother before becoming a teacher, where she nurtured young minds with patience and compassion. She later continued her career in Human Resources with the State of Colorado, serving others with the same kindness and integrity that defined every part of her life. A lifelong learner, she continually expanded her knowledge and earned professional certifications throughout her career.
Even while courageously facing cancer, Annette continued to work, care for those she loved, and live with remarkable grace and quiet strength. Her favorite reminder, "All you need is a little mustard seed of faith", reflected the steadfast trust in God that carried her through life's greatest challenges. Annette found happiness in lifes simple pleasures: family dinners, movies, crafting, hosting loved ones, music—especially Mamma Mia!—Mexican food, sweets, card games, and spending time with her beloved dachshund, Charli, and her cherished grand-dogs. More than anything, she treasured bringing people together and creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Annette is survived by her devoted husband, Charles; her daughters, Felicia Torrez and Brianna Torrez (Jonny); her brother, Lionel (Denise) Martinez of Cortez; her sisters, Evelyn Lopez of Center, Brenda Martinez of Center, Fern Montoya of Thornton, Fran (Steve) Sponsler of Thornton, and Jody (Bill) Wathier of Firestone; as well as many beloved in-laws, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ruth Martinez, and her brother, Bernie Martinez.
