Arnold F. Gustafson

Arnold Gustafson was born May 2, 1912 to Gustaf and Ella Gustafson in Red Wing Minnesota. He was married on June 19, 1944 to his beloved wife Georgia Faye Vann. Arny had four children, Tim(Meg), Nancy( Dick), Jon(Barb), and Gloria, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Arny was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Georgia and daughter Gloria, and his sisters, Elvira(Eddie), Millie(John), and Eleanor( arnie), and grandson Adam.

Arny attended Bethel College in St. Paul Minnesota, served as a pastor in a church in Rusk Wisconsin, and worked for his father at the Hanson and Gustafson grocery store in Red Wing until his father’s death in 1957.

Arny and family moved to Colorado Springs in 1958 where Arny and Georgia were the owners and proprietors of The Christian Book and Music Store from 1958 to1980.

Arny and Georgia moved to Sun City AZ in 1980 where they spent their final years. Arny spent a lot of time on the golf course and they visited family and enjoyed the Arizona weather.

Arny and Georgia were married 62 years when Georgia went to be with the Lord in 2006.

Arny had his 100 year birthday bash on May 2, 2012, attended by his children, grand children, and great grandchildren, as well as some nieces and nephews.

Interment will be at The Shrine of Remembrance at 11 AM.

Memorial service will be held at Woodmen Valley Chapel (Stone Chapel) on Thursday January 17, 2013, at 1 PM, with a reception to follow.

Viewing will be Wednesday January 16, 2013 at Swan Law Mortuary from 2 PM to 4 PM.
