

On December 10th 2022, Barbara Bennett passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones at the age of 78. Barbara’s decades long battle with MS and short bout with cancer were fought with bravery and dignity.
Barbara was born September 22, 1944 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She met her husband, Reb, in Junior High School and went on to attend Wasson High School. She then went to college in Oklahoma, coming back early to marry Reb. They were married in 1964 and began their life in Boulder, Colorado where they raised their family and lived for 51 years. While in Boulder, Barbara started working as a bank teller and over the span of her career, she went from teller to Vice President. She worked extremely hard and was very proud of her career. After Reb retired they moved to Monument to be closer to their moms and family. They had been married 58 years this month. Barbara was an avid reader and loved travelling when she could but her true passion was her family and husband. She and Reb spent most weekends with her children, siblings, cousins, and parents. She was a devoted mother and her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Barbara is survived by her Mother of 102 years, Betty Burton/ Dumler, her husband Reb Bennett, her children Keegan (Melissa) Bennett and Leslie (Mike) Paulin, her sisters Diana Collins and Donna Gissel, and her grandchildren, Brayden, Nicholas, Cole, and Keelie. Barbara also had several nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father Charles Burton, her brother Robert (Bob) Burton, and her brother James Burton.
A funeral service, honoring Barbara, will be at Swan Law Funeral Home on Thursday December 22, 2022, beginning at 11:00am. Barbara will be laid to rest with a private family ceremony at Crystal Valley Cemetery in Manitou Springs, Colorado.
