Barbara "Barbi" Lee Luque Harris had an artist's soul and a warrior's heart. Despite being told she would not live past 50, she defied the odds and lived life to the fullest until the age of 78. Her faith in God was unwavering, and her determination to experience life was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. From her beautiful paintings to her handmade quilts, Barbara expressed herself with creativity and grace. She had a gift for finding treasures at a steal, a sharp wit, and a loyal circle of friends who adored her. She cherished her family deeply.
On April 22nd, 2026, Barbara graduated from this classroom called life, surrounded by those who loved her. She has gone home to the father, welcomed by her son Randy, her parents Sam and Joan, and the many friends and family who went before her — into an eternity of peace, wholeness, and health.
She leaves a profound hole in our hearts. We will forever hold her strength, courage, and love of life close. Until we meet again — we love you, Bobs. Rest in Power.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Joan Luque. She is survived by her daughter, Kristin Williams-Custis (Dion), and son, Bryan Williams (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Aspen, Breck, and Logan Custis, and Sammy, Caleb, and Cassidy Williams; her husband, Michael Harris; her sister, Patty Appleman (Mike); her niece and nephews, Juliette Kemp (Steven) and Brent Appleman (Lisa); and her great-nephews, Jason and Caden Appleman.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Envoy Church (2025 N Murray Blvd, 80915) in Colorado Springs on Friday, May 15th at 1:00 p.m., with a reception to immediately follow.
