Barbara Jo Tschirgi Mueller, a 20 year resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. Born October 24, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Donald Martin Tschirgi, Sr. and Gwendolyn Belle (Funk) Tschirgi.
Barbara was born in Iowa, and spent her high school years in the panhandle of Texas before heading to Austin for college studies at the University of Texas. She married and lived in Austin for 25+ years, where she was active in many different organizations as a volunteer in the community, including the Christian Science Church, Settlement Home for Children, growing roses and competing in rose shows. She, and her family, were proud of her going back at a later age to finish her bachelors at the University of Texas and furthering her education at Colorado Mountain College in information technology (Cisco Certified Network Associate). She moved to Colorado in the mid-1990s full-time, where she enjoyed the mountains, and was deeply involved in the Christian Science Church. She had a passion for gardening (a Colorado Master Gardener), and enjoyed raising and training her dogs. She enjoyed being with her family, including many road trips around the country -- she loved to drive! She frequented and supported the Colorado Springs Cheyenne Mountain Zoo with her children and grandchildren. She was so proud of each one. Her family is celebrating her life in a private ceremony and will cherish her memory.
She is preceded in death by her brother Donald Martin Tschrigi, Jr. She is survived by her sisters, Marcia Gwen Tschirgi Kirkley, Debra Lynn Tschirgi Greer, Carol Sue Tschirgi; four children, John Martin Mueller and wife Widad, Andrew Scott Mueller and wife Sarah, Betsy Ann Mueller, Mark Randolph Mueller and wife Elizabeth, and eight grandchildren: Martin Nicklaus Mueller, Naya Noelle Mueller, Zachary Ivan Mueller, Luke Randolph Mueller, Travis Robert Mueller, Tyler David Mueller, Hayden Leigh Mueller, and Sadie Belle Mueller.
