Becky L. Zeigler

Becky Lou Zeigler, 57, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed from this earth into the loving arms of Jesus on October 29, 2013 after suffering for years from a prolonged illness. She was surrounded by loving family and friends at the residence of Rachel Liegghio, her host residential family for the last 3.5 years.

She was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on June 14, 1956. Becky was a graduate of Rocky Mountain Rehabilitation Center. She participated for many years in various Special Olympic programs including softball and track and field.

Becky had 17+ glorious years at Goodwill before moving on to the Mosaic State program. She enjoyed family gatherings and feeding the ducks at Prospect Lake. She loved to eat pizza and shoot basketball hoops.

She was preceded in death by her father Jerry Ziegler (1972) and her mother, Dorothy Mae Ziegler (1989). She is survived by her maternal Uncle Harold Trammell and his wife, Jeannette Trammell of Valencia, CA; her guardian and cousin Linda Word of Colorado Springs, CO; her former guardian James Ziegler of Sterling, IL; her paternal Aunt Marge, Uncle Jean, Aunt Irene and Aunt Leona; Joyce Trammell and Sandy Medieros of Pueblo, Colorado; and a large extended family.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 pm on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Swan-Law Funeral, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Swan-Law Funeral, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO Final internment will be at Evergreen Cemetery immediately following the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, 610 Abbot Lane, Colorado Springs, CO 80905.
