Betse was born in 1932 in Columbia, South Carolina. She spent her young life on the Eastern seaboard and Panama Canal Zone; graduated high school in Dayton, Ohio in 1950. While attending College of Marin in San Rafael, California, she met and married Lt. John Colbrunn. They were married for 57 years and had 2 daughters, Jenny and Cathy Colbrunn.
Betse was a woman of courage and grace, beauty and faith. She is survived, not only by family, but by all those whose lives were touched by this beloved woman.
