(Ok Yon Lim)
Betty Slack was born to Sang Ok Lim and Won Sang Kong on July 4, 1935 in South Korea and passed away on September 3, 2016 in Denver, Colorado.
Betty came to America in 1958 from her native country of South Korea and became an US citizen in 1962 while in Alaska. Betty was truly the “silent rock” of the family. She was always there with her gentle loving ways and at times would be tough when the situation became necessary. Along with her husband, Don, she reared three loving and strong willed children, instilling in each strong family values and a keen sense of caring for others that are less fortunate. Betty touched many lives and was highly respected and cherished by her friends.
Betty is survived by her son; Neal (wife Patti); daughter Lynn (husband Alex) Guido; and daughter-in-law Jeannie Slack. Betty was very proud of her grandchildren – Kara (husband Ben) Regier and Evan Slack; Kelsey and Garrett Slack; Nate, Abby and Nicholas Guido; and great-granddaughters Dylan and Quinn Regier.
Betty was preceded in death in 2015 by her husband; Don and her son; Mark.
Betty wishes any donations be made in her name to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
Funeral service is to be held Saturday, Sept 17th at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. A brief graveside service will follow at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
