Beverly Jo Brode Tubbs, age 76 of Colorado Springs, CO, passed into the arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on November 19, 2020 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on December 14, 1943 in Sherman, Texas to Hollis and Helen Brode. She attended schools in Sherman, TX and attended Austin College in Sherman, TX. She worked for Texas Instruments in Sherman, TX and Colorado Springs for many years, owned Master Quality Carts in Colorado Springs with her husband Bob, and retired as a Business Analyst from Raytheon after over 25 years of service. Beverly loved entertaining friends at her home and hosting holiday celebrations with her family. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and playing with her Pomeranians, Brutus and Stella. Beverly was a long-time member of Black Forest Lutheran Church.
In the midst of adversity, Beverly’s positivity, honesty, and fighting spirit were an inspiration to everyone around her. She had a zest and energy for life and fought each and every day, never giving up until Jesus called her home. She was a daughter, a sister, a mother, a grandmother, a friend. She was a barrier of protection for some, a pillar of strength to others, and a loving soul who spread God’s goodness to the world. Her caring heart never turned down anyone in need, and her artist’s hands created more than music; she built a life worthy of admiration. Her energetic spirit during family gatherings demonstrated her genuine personality, and her animated conversations serve as a memory of her intelligence and compassion. Her red hair was a testament to her fiery personality, and she had a demeanor and charisma beloved of many. She lived a life full of kindness, determination, and vigor, and her friends and family will always treasure the moments she shared with them. She lived a life more than the words on this page can express, since she touched the lives of countless others with her light and passion, and her impact on this world will not be forgotten. Beverly Tubbs was an amazing woman, and her life will be celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by a daughter, Dana (Dwight) Lackey of Colorado Springs; sons, Hollis (Michele) Tubbs of Colorado Springs, Robert Tubbs of Colorado Springs, and Allen (Beverly) Tubbs of Lebanon, MO; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and brother Gary (Karen) Brode of Denison TX.
