

Billie “Lucille” Butler, age 77, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025 surrounded by those that love her. Lucille was born on September 18, 1947 in Colorado City, TX to Billy and Earlene Owens. She graduated from Colorado City High School in 1966.
Lucille married her high school sweetheart, Artie, on August 29, 1970. They began their life in Midland, TX, adding their son, Brian. She then proceeded to pursue a career in public schools as an elementary school secretary. Lucille worked and enjoyed many school districts around Texas until she retired and moved to Colorado in 2015.
Lucille was a loving and caring wife and mother who deeply loved and supported her grandchildren. She was a woman who never met a stranger and loved to visit and befriend all. Lucille had a true compassion for all animals and cherished her beloved dogs and cats, especially her yellow lab, Sam. She was a devoted Christian woman who sought the best in everyone. Lucille was truly a woman of character who will be missed by her family and friends.
Lucille is survived by her son, Brian Butler (Maryanne) of Castle Pines, CO; loved grandchildren, Carley, Caitlyn, and Hayden Butler; two sister-n-laws: Linda Majors Newton, San Antonio, TX; Brenda Jackson (Lynn), San Angelo, TX; and numerous cousins and friends.
A Celebration of life will be held on October 3, 2025 at 10:30 am at Vista Grande Baptist Church, 5680 Stetson Hills Blvd. Colorado Springs, CO 80917. There will be a reception following. Graveside services will be held at a later time in Colorado City, TX.
