
Bonnie Lou (Bozick) Dungan was born March 16, 1932, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was the oldest of two daughters born to the late Ted and Mae (Knight) Bozick. Bonnie was raised on a farm and attended Alta Vista School. After graduating school, Bonnie married her high school sweetheart Charles B. Dungan in 1950 and moved to Calhan, Colorado. To this special union was born 4 daughters, Wanda, Karen, Janet, and Lynne. Bonnie worked as a bookkeeper for the Pikes Peak Co-op in Calhan until her retirement in 1997. Charlie and Bonnie grew tired of the cold winters in Colorado and decided to move to Lake Havasu, Arizona after Bonnie’s retirement. They enjoyed the warm winters there, but also loved coming back to Colorado to reunite with their family, friends, and community during the summer months. Bonnie was a very talented musician. She loved to the play the accordion, organ, and piano. She played for many occassions in the Calhan area. Bonnie was active in the Calhan United Methodist Church and played the organ there for 47 years. After moving to Arizona, she continued sharing her gift of music by playing the piano for the Pyle Center Songbirds, which she dearly loved. Bonnie enjoyed playing cards with friends and family and loved playing Bingo. She enjoyed following all of her grandkids and great grandkids in all of their activities and recently was able to enjoy meeting her first great great granddaughter and was able to be part of a very special 5 generation photo. Bonnie was also a longtime fan of the Broncos, Rockies, and Nuggets and enjoyed sharing this love of sport with her family. Bonnie was very proud of her family and loved them dearly.
Bonnie went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 26, 2021 at the age of 89. She is survived by her daughters, Wanda Kocerha, Karen Dungan, Janet Dungan-Byrne and son-in-law Chris Byrne, and Lynne Dungan. Grandchildren, Gentri and Tim Settle, Kyle and Kelly Kocerha, Dylan Byrne, Ledah and Jon Oswald, and Conor Byrne. Great grandchildren, Spencer and Melissa Settle, Cameron Settle, Cooper Settle, Treven Kocerha, Tatum Kocerha, and Trenna Kocerha, and great-great granddaughter, Mia Marie Settle, and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Charlie Dungan, parents Ted and Mae Bozick, sister Catherine and brother-in-law Kenneth Butler, son-in-law Thomas Kocerha, and grandson Jason Kocerha.
