Born on April 5, 1953, in Arcadia, California, Brad, affectionately known as "Chuby," was the beloved second child of Mavis Koisti and Melford Charles Currey. He graduated from Arcadia High School in 1971. A passionate and skilled pool builder and salesman, Brad’s career began at California Pools in Glendora, California, where he established a solid foundation in the industry. In 1984, seeking a brighter future for his family, he moved his wife Carla, daughters Kari Anne and Jill Christine to Prescott, Arizona to start Precision Pools and Spas, and became known as one of the only and best pool builders in Prescott and Northern Arizona.
In 1993, Brad relocated his family to northeast Phoenix to take a sales position with Pentair Pool Products, where he worked for over 20 years. After initially retiring, he found fulfillment in a new career as a Peoria school district bus driver, a job he loved and cherished. An avid traveler and road warrior, Brad finally retired and bought his dream home, an RV, and started exploring the country and making friends wherever he went. In his last years, he divided his time between Colorado Springs and Phoenix, living life to the fullest.
Brad’s passions included racing dirt bikes in his youth and riding his treasured Harley Davidson motorcycles and keeping up with old and new friends. One of his proudest moments was enjoying a final ride to Sturgis a few years back before he hung up his leathers.
Brad is preceded in death by his mother, Mavis, and father, Mel.
He is survived by his stepmother, Norma Powell, and his two sisters, Pam Cornell and Sonya Currey.
He is also survived by his daughters, Kari Fields and her husband Tyrone, and Jill Fowler and her husband Larry; and his six grandchildren, Alexis, Anthony, Amya, Taryn, Lukas, and Bailey.
