Aunt Robin and Uncle Connor were my Godparents, Brighid and I knew each other when we were very very little. Robin and Connor were references for my parents when they adopted me, and I remember them all fondly though I didn't know them long since they moved when I was young. Hearing of Brighid's passing is such a shock to me so many years later, and I want to extend my late sympathies and condolences to all of you. I hope you're all as well as you can be, and once again my sincere condolences.

To those who were closest and dearest to Brighid,

Brighid was radiant. She filled our sorority and sisterhood with creative, intellectual, and positive energy. Brighid always wore a beautiful, bubbly smile on her face, and I consistently felt happier just having her near. She made those around her feel important and accepted. She was dependable, and always offered help and support to anyone who needed it. I am deeply sorry for your loss, but would like you to know you raised one of the strongest, kindest, brightest women I have ever met. Thank you for bringing such a wonderful person into this world. I feel so fortunate to have briefly crossed paths with such an Angel. 

May her life be celebrated and cherished!

High school was never an easy time for me. I was often awkward and lacked social graces but Bridgid was one of the few people I knew who never had a unkind thought, gesture, or word to say about anything. She could always pick me up on a bad day and this all still feels like a terrible trick. I know she is in a better place and looking down on us. 

I was a student from Serbia (Europe) stuck in Denver with my friends. It was late, and the three of us - we had no idea how to get back to Colorado Springs that night. We didn’t have a lot of money, and I really was scared to stay there at night, on the streets, in such a big city, with nowhere to sleep. I sent messages to so many people I knew from Colorado Springs. Brighid and her best friend Leah were the only ones who actually wanted to help us. They didn’t care cos it was late, they drove all the way to Denver that night and picked us up, then we safely arrived home. And the best part is - they didn’t want anything in return, not even gas money. Brighid was truly an angel. So many moments I will never forget. Her heart was big. I will never forget her. She was an angel and she is with angels now. I love you Brighid ❤️  


To Conor, Robin, Liam and Fin,

Our hearts are so full of sadness and love for you all! She was such a wonderful, loving and caring young women!

Our beautiful niece there are simply no words to capture your 22 years on this earth or the heartache on your loss. We always loved your visits to Ireland and watched as you grew into such a beautiful young woman. We fondly remember your enthusiastic dancing at our wedding, we remember you learning to drive on a beach in Dingle & playing hide & seek in the dark with your cousins, we remember your joy in being able to walk to a shop independently in Clifden to buy sweets, we remember buying you your first "legal" drink at Dublin airport on your last visit. What we remember most is how you made people feel and how clearly you loved and were loved and adored by your Mum, Dad, Liam and Fintan. Fly high Brighid,  we will love and remember you always. I met Brighid the first weekend of my freshman year of college and I immediately liked her. She was so incredibly kind, extremely dedicated to both her school and work, and was always a blast to be around. While we grew apart after freshman year, we reconnected senior year through our mutual friends and our shared journey to San Diego. I am devasted that Brighid won’t be there with me and that we didn’t get to rekindle our friendship more, but I feel so incredibly lucky to have met her at all. She really was a one of a kind person and I will miss her so much. 

I was lucky enough to go through middle school and some of high school with Brighid. She had this goofy loving personality that always put a smile on your face. Even when you failed your English final, Brighid was there to cheer you up. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Heaney family as they go through this incredibly hard time. 

Brighid and I spent a lot of our summers together growing up. She always had a personality that could light up a room. Whether we were picking choke cherries, bouncing on the trampoline, or making cookies, she was always the life of the party. One hot summer day, after a while of bouncing on the trampoline and our hair full of static, we both noticed a bright blue dragonfly stuck in the mesh netting. Of course while screaming and giggling, like the little girls we were, we got the dragonfly out and we sat back to watch it fly away. 

Dr. Heaney and Robin, I know no words can make your pain go away, but know Dan and I are so sorry for your loss and are praying for your family. Please let us know if there is anything we can do.

My family and I are grieving and praying for Brighid's family.  As a young playmate with my daughter, Brighid was always kind and gracious.  It was easy to see that she carried that grace into her young adult years when she occasionally practiced in my yoga class with her Mom.  Our hearts are breaking with you for this most painful loss.

Being in class with Brighid and Liam was so fun. To see the two siblings smiling and laughing and learning together was very sweet. It was apparent how much they loved each other. I’m so sorry for your loss and my thoughts and prayers are with your family ❤️
