

Carla N. Flutcher, loving mother and grandmother, passed away July 3, 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colorado after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Denver, Colorado, May 2, 1938 to Carl and Adelaide Beedy.
Growing up, Carla enjoyed playing piano, performing in recitals with her sister, Brenda, and brother, Brian, riding with the Pikes Peak Rangerettes, and working in local radio. Later, as a devoted mother and animal lover, she enjoyed, ranching, raising Quarter horses and Appaloosas for racing and showing, attending her children’s horse shows, hockey games, and concerts. Her dogs, cats, and horses were always an exceptionally close part of her family.
Carla graduated from Colorado Springs High School and went on to attend the University of Colorado, Boulder, and Colorado A&M (CSU). She worked for T-Cross Ranches before moving into her life-long career as a Court Reporter. Carla began this work at Ft. Carson before finding her home with the Air Force at Peterson AFB. She also spent over twenty years working part time for El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in the Records Section.
Carla was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Brian Beedy. She is survived by her sister Brenda Simpson, daughter Heidi (Robert) Enoch, son Mark, grandson Robert Enoch Jr. nieces Nancy (Ray) Walling, Tracy (Ken) Spinuzzi, and Sharna Simpson, and nephew Neil Simpson.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs. Her memorial service is scheduled for Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Colorado Springs, with a graveside service to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Colorado Springs.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Cloud Foundation, Evergreen Animal Protective League, and Friends of Retired Greyhounds.
