Carol Jean Fuchs

Carol Jean Fuchs, 83, of Calhan Colorado, passed away peacefully at her home on March 30, 2026. Born October 31, 1942, to Everett & Doris (Gardner) Eis in Colorado Springs. She met the love of her life at 16 and eloped to marry David W. Fuchs on March 28, 1959, and recently celebrated 66 years of marriage. Dave & Carol had 3 children together, all of whom survive her: Lacy (Shauna) Fuchs of Falcon, Lorie (Clint) Mitchell of Calhan, Lee (Melanie) Fuchs of Calhan. Grandchildren Donovan (Jamie) Mitchell, Joe (Ashlee) Mitchell, Michael (Chloe) Mitchell, Garrett (Maggie) Fuchs, Brittany (Dakota) Abbott, Caleb (Reese) Fuchs, and Dalton Fuchs. Great-grandchildren, Jordan, Sadie, Reagan, Paisley, Macy Jo, and baby Haven Abbott. Carol and Dave lived an adventurous life, always pursuing opportunities to enjoy their family and owning many businesses. They enjoyed camping, boating, and snowmobiling, and all of their children have carried on the same passion. They loved to travel in the later years to Branson, Lake Havasu, to see cousin JoJo, and Arizona to spend time with her sister Linda Eis. Carol is survived by her sister, Linda Eis; sisters-in-law, Rita Lenore and Nina Fuchs; brother-in-law, Jerry (Joni) Green; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Doris Eis; her husband, Dave Fuchs; her sister, Geri Jones; her sister-in-law, Theo Chambers; and her brother-in-law, Irvin Fuchs. A service to celebrate her life will be held on April 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Swan Law Funeral Home, 501 N Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903. Open viewing will be 10:00 AM. Reception following 12:30-2:30 PM at Hacienda Colorado, 5246 N Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs 80918. Interment at 3:00 PM at the Calhan Cemetery.
