

Carol was born on May 5, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, to Roland and Ruth LaRose. She had four siblings: Richard, Cliff, Burt, and Joan.
Carol attended Eastern Michigan University and went on to become a teacher. She later returned to school and obtained a Master's degree in Library Science. She worked as a librarian at the Farmington Community Library until her retirement.
Carol met her husband, Ellis "Fritz" Hansen, during a snowstorm in 1965 while living in Detroit, and they married on June 25, 1966. Together they had two sons and raised them in southeast Michigan. In 2008, Carol moved to Colorado to be near her sons after Fritz's passing.
Throughout her life, Carol enjoyed traveling extensively with her family and during retirement. Her travels took her across the United States, from Alaska to Florida, as well as to Central America and Europe. She also enjoyed reading, attending symphony performances, and playing bridge with her friends. Carol was a strong and independent woman who lived on her own and cared for herself later in life until just a few months before her passing.
Carol is survived by her sons, Charles and Carl, and her daughter-in-law, Kristy.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Fritz; her siblings, Richard, Cliff, Burt, and Joan; and her parents, Roland and Ruth.
Services will be held on June 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
