

Carolyn was born on January 2, 1945 in Colorado Springs to Emilia and Manuel Cimino. She was the second of two children. While growing up in Colorado Springs, Carolyn attended Corpus Christi Catholic School and St. Mary’s High School. She also worked at the Poor Boy Inn as a carhop.
After graduating from St. Mary’s High School in 1963, she began working at the local Security Savings and Loan Bank. Carolyn met her first husband, Dennis Doty, and they later married on November 23, 1963. Together they welcomed two children, Douglas and Paige.
She later moved to Cambridge, Illinois in 1978 with her children and her second husband- Dennis Mercier, where she lived until 1984. After her youngest graduated from Cambridge high school, Carolyn moved back to Colorado Springs- where she married her husband, James Marshall, and lived until her passing.
Family and friends were extremely important in her life. She played an integral part in planning and coordinating all family reunions and hosting regular family dinners. Carolyn was an active participant in several community organizations and local chapters including the Red Hat Society and Beta Sigma Phi. She also volunteered much of her time to the local Salvation Army, helping them to raise funds for programs and people in need.
Carolyn loved to travel with her husband and friends to see new parts of the world. From cruises around the Caribbean to tours throughout Europe, she visited countless countries and explored many beautiful places during her lifetime.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, James Marshall; her brother, Michael Cimino; her parents, Emilia and Manuel Cimino, along with many other loved ones. She leaves behind her two children, Paige Stevens and Doug Mercier; three grandchildren Danielle, Anthony and Vincent; two great- grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends.
Her funeral service and Celebration of Life is scheduled for Friday, August 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2318 N Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80907. Carolyn will be laid to rest next to her husband at Pikes Peak National Cemetery privately with family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army in Colorado Springs, CO.
