You were known to us as grandma Carrie. My family had the pleasure of becoming a part of your family when my sister Chanda married Roger. Since that day you not only took my sister in but you took us all in as your family, and have been present in our lives throughout the last 21 years. I still remember taking our kids on Halloween to your house, just so you could see them all dressed up. All the family dinners we shared over the years will surely be missed, but I will miss your kindness the most. Your legacy will live on though through your children, and I am thankful that through Henrietta I will get to see you still shining ever so brightly. We love you, and we will see you again someday in Heaven. ❤

It's the time of year when I always make homemade fruitcakes. Ms Carrie's had to be special, made with no nuts. Even though that didn't sound good to me, I changed my recipe just for her, because she was so special and loved homemade fruitcake. She always loved getting her cake, and I loved the smile on her face when receiving it each year. Making fruitcakes this year will feel different, with nuts or without. I will miss her, she was a blessing with her warm smile and kind heart. She was a beautiful friend.

Grandma - There are no words worthy enough to describe the special place you hold in our hearts. Your warm smile and loving spirit have been a steadfast presence in my life. I’m so thankful my wife and children had so many great years with you and were able to know you and your loving heart the way that I did. The thought of starting each tomorrow without you is a thought I’m not sure I will ever get use to. You were always so kind to everyone and deserved the best life had to give. You endured many hardships and still lived an example of continued strength and beauty in front of your family. I will miss you more than words can say. In the same words you always said to me every time we hugged goodbye, “I’ll see you at the movies”.
Love,
Roger, Chanda, Vanessa, and Isaiah

To My Beautiful Grandma,
Words couldn’t express the sadness I feel knowing you are not with us anymore, even though I know in my heart you are still here shining down on everyone! I’m going to miss coming over and spending time with you and going down memory lane, I always enjoyed talking the past and bringing the skeletons out of the closet. Didn’t matter if it was VELASQUEZ, or PACHECO you were always ready to gossip about the older days and about you and Gramps life. I’m thankful for the family you two created, and I’m beyond grateful and privileged to be called your grandson. I hope you know you will always have a special place in my heart, I love you so much and I hope everyone in Heaven welcomed you and had your favorite tunes playing! Rest In Paradise and one day I will see you Again!
Love,
Anthony V
