

Casey was born and raised in Joseph, Utah to loving parents Jack Ross and Norma Electa Christiansen on July 25th, 1971. He had 4 sisters and 1 brother.
He attended South Sevier High School in Utah and graduated from Tuba City High School in Arizona.
Casey enlisted in the U.S. Army on September 18, 1992, and dutifully served for many years on Active Duty and as a member of the National Guard. During his years of service, Casey’s proudest achievement was earning the title of Special Forces Green Beret Weapons Sergeant. Additionally, he attained the rank of Sargeant First Class. Casey proudly served during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. His military service was highly valued and he was awarded the Bronze Star, Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3), Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal (2), Kosovo Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal w/M device (2), NATO Medal, Army Service Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (2), Overseas Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Bar, Expert Badge M4 Rifle, Expert Badge Hand Grenade, Expert Infantryman Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge, Parachutist Badge, Special Forces Tab.
Casey served the United States Government for 20 years encompassing full spectrum unconventional operations in austere environments.
Casey met his wife, Jenny Joanna Tomlinson, in October 1997 and they were married for 27 years. They started their family and raised their 3 children, Timothy, Daniel, and James in Apex, NC for many years before moving to Colorado Springs in August 2020. Casey’s love for his children was ever present, and they loved spending time together in the Scouts, snowboarding, taking family RV trips, and just hanging out watching TV.
Casey is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Norma.
Casey is survived by his wife Jenny; his sons Timothy, Daniel, and James; his siblings Russell Zarkou, Linda Jensen, Gina Nowell, Diane Sorenson, Kelli Ross Miller; many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 1300 with Full Military Honors at the Flying W Ranch at 3330 Chuckwagon Road in Colorado Springs. A reception will follow immediately afterwards with light hors d’oeuvre and a cash bar.
The service will be available by live stream, and a recording will be available shortly after.
There will be a Celebration of Life following the service at the Red Leg Brewery at 2323 Garden of the Gods Road, Suite 107 in Colorado Springs.
Casey's family will honor his memory by scattering his ashes in many of his favorite places.
