

She was born December 21, 1929, in Turtle Creek Pennsylvania to Michael William Bench and Catherine Isabella (Neihl) Bench. Being the only girl with 5 brothers, Michael Jr., Clarence, Robert, William, and Ronald: she was known as “Doll.” She graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1947 and worked in a department store until she married Robert Harold Stephan in 1957. They celebrated 54 years of marriage until Bob’s death in 2011.
In the early 1960’s they moved from Philadelphia to Colorado; with her entrepreneurial drive she ran a dude ranch in the mountains before starting Bobcat Horse Stables in Colorado Springs. Later started a small resale shop. Kathy volunteered with many school projects, club and activities around town.
Catherine leaves behind a loving family who cherished her warm spirit and generous heart. She is survived by son Richard (Evelynn) Stephan of Colorado Springs and daughter Cheryl McDonell (Don) of Hale Michigan. Two grandsons Josh (Kayla) McDonell and Jeremiah (Stephanie) McDonell and three great grandchildren, Addison, Theodore, and Gemma.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, and son Robert Jr. and many brothers and sister-in laws. Her memory will be cherished by her family and those who knew her.
