Charles was born in Vian, Oklahoma Dec 20, 1929 to Jewel Harkey Dodd and Charles Dodd, Sr., who
preceded him in death as well as two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Helen, of 56
years, two sons, Richard M. Dodd (Nancy), of Canon City, David S. Dodd of Colorado Springs and one
very special granddaughter, Chelsey Marie Dodd - The Apple Of His Eye. Charlie entered into the United States Army in 1945 where he served over 24 years with participation in The Berlin Airlift, The Korean War, where he served as a Combat Medic, and The Vietnam War.
One of his favorite things was sitting on the porch and enjoying small talk with the kids in the
neighborhood who knew him as Mr. Charlie.
Mr. Charlie loved traveling, yard sales, and fellowshipping with his Korean War Veterans Group. He
loved spending time with his family (Rick, David, and especially his granddaughter Chelsey). Most of all Charlie enjoyed long walks in the park with his wife, Helen.
A Visitation will be held, Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 5-7pm. Another visitation will be at 10:00am on Friday, October 14, 2011 followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00am. The burial will follow. All will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Home.
