

Charles Edward Lewis was born on July 21, 1929 at Trinity Hospital in Minot, North Dakota to Percy M. Lewis and Charlotte M. (Cook) Lewis. From fourth grade through High School, he lived in Granville, ND.
Shortly after graduating High School, he enlisted in the Navy. Later, he entered the Naval Academy. When he graduated from the Naval Academy, he was commissioned in the Air Force, and went to Air Force pilot training. His last Air Force assignment was as a mathematician and computer programmer in the space defense system.
After retiring from the Air Force, he remained in Colorado Springs. He was a part-time instructor for National College (now National American University) for 34 years, and was a self-employed income tax preparer for 36 years.
He married Patricia Jane Nuttall on December 21, 1953. They had five children: David, Susan, Marti, Mary and Ruth.
He was a member of Ashlar Lodge #69, A.F & A.M. Granville, ND since 1950; he was a member of the Cripple Creek Lodge #96 since 2007. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, and a member of the Shrine.
He was a Boy Scout leader for over 50 years, starting in 1966.
He was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church, starting in 1970, where, over the years, he filled several different Lay positions of service.
His hobbies included chess, bridge, hiking, camping and house and yard cleanup.
He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia in 2017.
He is survived by his four children, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 3pm-5pm at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO, 80910.
Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be Sunday, February 16, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2505 N. Circle Drive, Colorado Springs, CO, 80909.
