Chuck was born, December 10 1952 to Richard and Virginia Stephens and raised in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming. He graduated high school and attended the University of Wyoming with a BS Degree in Biology. He was a scholar and loved education. Chuck earned his Doctorate in Medicine at the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, a Masters Degree in Divinity at Iliff School of Theology and his master in Addictionology. His service to community and professional boards were numerous.
At the time of his passing, Rev. Stephens was the Minister of Missions at First United Methodist Church in Colorado Springs. He lived a full 27 year bonus life after finding recovery. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a physician, a minister, a sponsor and friend to countless others.
He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Stephens. Survivors include his loving mother, Virginia Stephens, Cheyenne, Wyoming, sisters and brothers-in-law Candace (James) Donahue, Worland, Wyoming and Julie (Jody) Malm, Cheyenne, Wyoming, three nephews, Gunnar Malm (Jessica), James Donahue (Nikki), Michael Donahue (Stephanie) and his favorite niece, Kirsten Malm. Also surviving are 3 great nieces, Aedyn, Avery and Charlie Grace Donahue and 2 great nephews, Joshua and Jameson Donahue.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, April 3, 2020, 1:00 PM, at First United Methodist Church, 420 N. Nevada Ave., Colorado Springs, CO. Memorials can be made in his honor to FUMC - Missions in Colorado Springs or a charity of your choice.
