Charles “Charlie” Wilt, age 90, of Colorado Springs, CO died March 4, 2026, in his home. He was born March 3, 1936, in French Creek, WV to the late Marion Wheeler and Neva Ellen Haynes Wilt. Charles was preceded in death by his wife Jeanette Agnes Haller Wilt, daughter Betty Wilt, daughter Teresa Wilt, and son Charles “Chuck” Wilt, as well as one great-granddaughter. Surviving is his brother Ralph Richard Wilt, his two daughters Janet Bowerman (Stephen Bowerman) and Ellen Worth (Joseph Worth), as well as seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Wilt served in the US Air Force from 1954 – 1977. He was a retired MSGT and spent his 23-year enlistment as a radar operator and data processor, earning many awards.
Charlie enjoyed hiking the Manitou Springs Incline and to the Barr Camp on Pikes Peak. He was an avid rockhound, enjoyed Westerns, reading war books, gardening, and spending time with his friends and family.
