

Charlie Vernon Bowles, 77, of Fountain, Colorado, passed away at Park View Hospital in Pueblo, CO with loving friends by his side. He was born July 1, 1947 in Forsyth County, Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Oscar and Onnie Bowles. Charlie was the 10th of 11 children (7 boys and 4 girls).
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; siblings, Henry, Oscar, Betty, Dorothy, Billy, Woodrow, James, and Richard.
Charlie is survived by his sisters, Sue, and her husband, Ron, as well as Shirley, and her husband, Mike, both of North Carolina; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Charlie graduated from East Forsyth High School. He was a member of Baux Mountain Baptist Church. He joined the U.S. Army and served his country in Vietnam. Charlie loved spending time with friends and fellow veterans at the VFW and American Legion. He loved the Broncos, the North Carolina Panthers, football, baseball, and he loved good food.
Charlie’s earthly journey may be over, but he will continue to live through the hearts and memories of those he has left behind. He will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, August 12, 2024 at Chapel of Memories, 829 South Hancock Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.

A Graveside Service with Full Army Military Honors will be held at 12:00PM, Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80925.
