Charlotte Ann Roberts, 83, passed away January 9, 2021. She is survived by her brother Max Ruhmann, her three children: Bruce (Cami), William (Teresa) and Kirstin Blume (Ed), Six grandchildren: Neil (Hope), Craig (Stephanie), Ben, Nate, Elizabeth and Alivia, and two great grandsons: Matthew and James. She is preceded in death by her husband Dr. Jerry R. Roberts and her parents Billie Bruce and Emanuel Ruhmann.
Charlotte was born in Sulfur Springs, TX on December 20, 1937. She got her nursing degree at Texas Women’s University in 1960. Early in her nursing career she was a member of the team performing the first open heart surgeries at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. She met Jerry while still in nursing school and they married on June 4, 1961. Colorado Springs residents since 1965, they raised their three children here. She was a devoted mother who cared not only for her own but generously gave her time and love to so many others.
She loved being a nurse and working along side her husband. She also enjoyed playing tennis and belonged to several bridge groups. Charlotte had a true gift for crafting. She could produce dazzling dresses and a multitude of other clothing as well as crochet beautiful baby blankets. Needlepoint and handiwork of most any kind were also special favorites.
Though the memory difficulties of dementia plagued her last years she still remembered those closest to her with love. She will be greatly missed!
A memorial service will held on Saturday, February 13th, 11:00am at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
