

Clara Belle (Barnes) Brown, 96, of Colorado Springs, CO, beloved wife of the late Roland L (Brownie) Brown, passed away on January 8, 2015. Born in Bristol, CT in 1918 to the late Frank and Ethel (Canada) Barnes, she lived in Bristol most of her life. Belle and Brownie relocated to Colorado in 2005.
Belle was a dedicated homemaker until her daughters went off to college, at which time she worked in sales at WT Grant Co and Caldors, both of Bristol. During her retirement years, she wrote a treasured book of her childhood memories, sharing her life experiences growing up as a farm girl. Clara Belle loved home and family, writing, gardening, dancing with Brownie and a simple life. She leaves her daughters and sons in law, Bonnie and her husband Stuart of Westfield, MA, and Betsy and her husband Ed Luminati of Colorado Springs, CO. She leaves three grandchildren, Sally Felix, Sunny Dunski and Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Luminati currently in the Air Force stationed in California and his wife, Jennifer; one great grandson, Maxwell and three great granddaughters, Kathryn, Elliana and Miranda. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. Clara Belle was predeceased by her husband of 69 years and her three sisters, Laura Simpson, Mabel London and Bernardine Snell.
A memorial service will be held in Colorado Springs. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church, Maple Street, Bristol, CT 06010.
