Clifford Allen Stoker, age 80, of Colorado Springs, passed from his wife’s arms into the loving arms of Jesus on May 17, 2024. Cliff was born to Melba Joyce (Litchfield) Stoker and Allen Victor Stoker on April 1, 1944 during WWII at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. Like many born during the war, his dad was in the Philippines during his birth.
A good deal of his childhood was spent in Waxahachie, Texas while his dad obtained his ministerial degree, or visiting his grandparent’s farm in Kansas for the summer months; but he always considered himself as a true Colorado Native.
Cliff graduated Palmer High School in 1963. He served his Country by enlisting in the USNR at 17 ½ years of age during his Jr year in H.S. He was stationed in San Diego, CA. Upon the 6-year completion of his service to his Country, he joined the Colorado Springs Police Department and worked up to Traffic Investigator over his 10 years on the Department, “retiring” to self-employment where he started his own Burglar & Fire Alarm Company, C & C Alarms in 1976. That company grew by leaps and bounds and ultimately, it became Colorado Central Alarms, Inc.
He married Cheryl Ruth-Newland-Granfield on June 8, 1968. Their firstborn, Shannon Michelle, came along in 1973 and their second daughter, Andreá Nichole, in 1976.
1985 brought forth a buyer for his corporation, Colorado Central Alarms, Inc. But having the “entrepreneur fever”, in 1994 he started yet another alarm company, American Bell Security, Inc. which he sold in 2012 and fully retired from the alarm industry. Cliff worked part-time as a tour guide for Adventures Out West and enjoyed chatting with visitors to the area while driving them around giving a verbal tour of his extensive knowledge of the Pikes Peak Region.
Cliff’s desire in life was always to serve his Lord, treating friends, clients and family with dignity and the love of the Lord. He was raised in his dad’s church, Black Forest Assembly of God, and soon after marrying Cheri, became a life-long member of First Evangelical Free Church, where he served as Trustee for several years while raising his daughters in that church. In his retirement, he never overlooked an opportunity to speak of the Lord in an attempt to win souls for his Lord.
Cliff is survived by his beloved wife, Cheri, of 56 years; and daughters, Shannon Michelle Larson, Andreá Nichole Grant; and grandchildren, Luke Larson, Asher Larson, Peyton Grant; sister-in-law, Carole Granfield Thurston; nephew, Cody Thurston; and brother-in-law, Roger Wichman; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews in the Wichman family.
