Cody Ryan Hurley, beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 18, 2019 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born in Colorado Springs on May 1, 1997.
After graduating from William J. Palmer High School in 2015. He attended Pikes Peak Community College for 2 years before transferring to Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado where he was studying Geology. While at Palmer HS, Cody played trumpet and french horn in the concert, pep & marching (1 trip to State) bands. Last summer he worked for the Grounds Department at School District 49.
Cody enjoyed hiking, video games, science fiction, various genres of music, knives and hanging out with friends.
Cody leaves behind to cherish his memory loving parents Doug & Brenda (Lewis) Hurley & brother Cory Hurley, Colorado Springs; grandmothers Ruth Lewis, Van Wert, OH; Marcia (Ramsey) Leigh, Wilmington, OH; (4) uncles, (2) aunts, cousins, nephews, neices and numerous friends.
Visitation will take place Friday, January 25, 2019, from 5 - 9 pm, at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, January 26, 2019, at 11 am at First Friends Church, 2748 East Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs. Burial will take place at 12:30 pm at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expressway, Colorado Springs. Reception will follow at First Friends Church.
