After graduating from Florence High School, Connie moved to Greeley to attend Colorado Normal School, pursuing a degree in Physical Education. There, she met and married Darrell Jenkins. Their time together was tragically cut short when Darrell passed away just four months before the birth of their son, Bret. Following this loss, Connie returned to Colorado Springs to be closer to family.
She worked for Hewlett-Packard, where she met her soulmate, Hector Arambulo. They married on December 26, 1986, and built a beautiful life together. In 1990, Connie earned her bachelor’s degree from the UCCS. In 1998, Hector became paralyzed due to a failed surgery, and Connie devoted herself to his care until his passing in 2021.
Connie had an incredible gift for creating beauty—whether in her homes, her gardens, her sense of style, or in the cherished moments she spent with her grandsons. She brought joy and grace to those around her, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She is survived by her son, Bret (Tonya) Jenkins; grandsons Durango (Keith Evenson) Jenkins and River Jenkins; her sister, Karen Hall; and nieces and nephews Michelle, Melissa, Melinda, and Michael Hall.
A celebration of Connie’s life will be held in May. Connie loved fresh cut-flowers. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you buy flowers for yourself in her honor or make a donation to the Nature & Wildlife Discovery Center in Beulah, CO.
