

Cynthia Dianne (Batley) Pickett age 56, beloved mother, wife, sister, and daughter entered into the joy of eternal life on Friday, February 28, 2014 in Aurora, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Donald F. Pickett.
Cindy was born in Colorado Springs on July 9, 1957 to Charles and Ruth Batley. She was raised with her sister Charlene Tackett in Colorado Springs Colorado and graduated from Wasson High School. Shortly after, she married the love of her life, Donald Pickett, and they began their life together and Don’s service in the military.
Cindy worked fervently as a cardiac step down nurse for many years but mostly enjoyed and was challenged by her work in the ER. Her faithfulness to the Lord and love for people defined her life. After a third battle with cancer she went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 28 and rejoined Don. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Haynes and her son, Matthew Pickett, her parents, Charles and Ruth Batley, and her sister, Char Tackett.
Graveside service will be held at the Air Force Academy cemetery on March 6 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at Austin Bluffs Evangelical Free Church, 3435 Maizeland Rd. at 6:30 p.m. . Non-military ID holders will be required to enter the Air Force Academy through the North Gate.
