Dakota John Clearwater passed away unexpectedly on November 14, 2023, at the age of 30. He was born on March 22, 1993, at Howard AFB, Republic of Panama to William Clearwater and Melinda Clearwater (Elliott).
He is survived by his parents, his maternal grandfather, Ernest Elliott, his sisters, Erin Ahlberg, Karie Clearwater and Krista Zoeckler, his brother William Clearwater and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Dakota battled numerous medical conditions. In Nov 2006 he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and underwent surgery, chemo and radiation treatments. In May 2016, he suffered a brain bleed which required brain surgery and a permanent metal plate in his head. Despite these physical obstacles, he was determined to succeed, which he did, and live life to the fullest every moment.
He attended Falcon High School, Colorado graduating in 2011, then went on to earn an Associate Degree in Computer Technologies in 2015. However, he found his true passion as an electrician. After spending 5 years as an apprentice with the IBEW local union 113, he became a certified Journeyman Electrician in July 2023.
Dakota had a passion for computers, anime, video gaming, Rubik’s cubes, cooking, ATV riding, model building, mash-up music, problem solving and learning new skills.
Dakota was a loving, devoted son, brother, and friend to many. He loved to help his family, protect his sister, make his friends and co-workers laugh and snuggle his cat. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and doing projects with his dad; and cooking new recipes, giving Dante (the cat) sandwich hugs and sharing memories with his mom. He and his sister, Erin, would stay up for hours playing a video game called Genshin Impact, they helped each other out not only in a virtual world, but in real life.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on December 8, 2023 at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave, C/S 80903. Service begins at 3:00 with a reception to follow from 3:45-5:45.
