Daniel passed away after a long campaign to overcome
a breathing disorder. Dan was a great lover of nature.
He earned a degree in earth science at the University of
Northern Colorado and had held a series of jobs relating
to the mysteries of the planet Earth. At his death he
was a deeply appreciated volunteer at the Western
Museum of Mining and Industry.
Dan was the son of Ann Blout, the late well-known
musician and teacher in the Colorado Springs area. His
father was Harry Blout, a retired Air Force officer.
Dan is survived by his beloved younger brother,
Marcus. Dan was delighted to have
grown up in the nature areas of the Air Force
Academy and in the Black Forest. He was a graduate
of Air Academy High School.
It was always a delight to be around Dan. He had a great
sense of humor and provided wry, thoughtful
commentary about the world in which we live.
Plans are being made for a ceremony to distribute
Dan's ashes in a forested area that he would have loved.
Memorial contributions in Dan's memory may be made
to the Western Museum of Mining and Industry, 225
North Gate Blvd., Colorado Springs, CO 80921.
