David and Jenifer are survived by their four children, Sarah-Ann (Bradley), David (Casandra), Daniel, and Samuel; their three beautiful granddaughters Elina, Elianna, and Savannah; and their soon-to -arrive grandson, Liam.
David Browne was born in Los Angeles in 1948; Jenifer Blomquist in 1958 in Maryland. Dave was a pilot in the United States Navy for couple years before moving to Maryland to pursue his master’s degree in physical science. After graduate school, Dave went to work for the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration. Jenifer was working in a civilian secretarial role for the United States Army.
They met in Maryland at an Amway Convention and later married (1986) after being close friends for some time. They left Maryland after their first two children were born (Sarah-Ann and David II) and moved to Southern California where Dave took a position as an oceanographer with the Minerals Management Service. Their youngest sons, Daniel and Samuel, were born during their time in Southern California. After retiring as an oceanographer, Dave and Jenifer were ready to “get out of Dodge” and head east to the Rocky Mountain State to start the next chapter of their lives in the Black Forest of Colorado Springs.
Both Dave and Jenifer became followers of Jesus Christ in their adult years and their faith continued to blossom while living in Colorado Springs. Their marriage bond was strengthened by their shared love of the Lord and their commitment to studying the Bible and praying together daily. They prayed every day to their very last for the needs of others. Though life wasn’t always easy for them, they remained steadfast in their faith, and in their commitment to the Lord and each other.
Though they were gone in a blink-of-an-eye, we believe the Lord had been preparing their souls for a time such as this. Since none of us could have predicted this shocking conclusion to their story, we have been finding evidence of God’s sovereignty in their lives in the aftermath of this tragedy. In Jenifer’s last devotional reading on February 27, 2021 she read “…In heaven, we will no longer have to deal with temptations or limitations of our present time-bound existence. …Our new bodies will be suited for the environment where we dwell forever – an ageless eternity in which all of our needs are perfectly met”.
Memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday March 18, 2021 at High Plains Fellowship. Reverend Matt Holst of High Plains Fellowship will be officiating. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Mountain View Mortuary.
