David Winston Bylund

David Winston was called home to be with the Lord on December 6, 2013 at the age of 96 years 6 months and 21 days, a total of 35,269 Days. He had expressed to family and close friends that he was ready to go. Some remember that he had expressed such sentiment soon after his dear wife Rose Mary had gone to be with the Lord in May of 1999. He reminded us often of the lonely spot in his heart that was left when she departed. David Winston, and Rose Mary Lebaron were married in Castle Rock, Colorado on April 15, 1938 and were married for 61 years. God had a purpose in allowing him to be with us another 14 years 7 months. David W. had moved with his parents, David Conrad Victor and Charlotte (Isenberg) Bylund from Minneapolis to Colorado Springs at the age of 3 in 1920. David had a sister, Dorothy Charlotte and a brother, Bud Lee, both deceased.

While at home with his son in-law Bill Weiss, David said, “Tick, tick, tick. Bill asked what he meant. David responded, “That’s the sound of a clock. Time is running out. I’ll be going soon.” Bill asked “Where?” David responded, “To heaven, of course.” David’s further thoughts, in effect expressed that for now he was “still stuck here with you”. Thursday evening he shared supper with daughter Rita, as was their habit. David had a sure hope in heaven and the eternal home that was prepared for him. Early the next morning, he got out of bed and walked into eternity.

His desire for any who would listen and all who now read this message would be that you also have that same hope for eternity in knowing the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior.

David gave his life to the Lord at an early age and he and Rose Mary were committed to serve the Lord together in their marriage. Some of his happiest times, even in his elder years, were being in fellowship with those of shared faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. He was in fellowship with the same company of believers for over 8 decades. People in this fellowship were also part of his family.

David is survived by four children, and their respective families, David LeBaron, Sharon Qunean, Rita Louise, and Martha Kay.
