

He was born on April 23, 1934 in Danville, Illinois. David was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather & great grandfather to the family he leaves behind. He was also part of a loving church family at Academy Christian Church. A veteran of 22 years in the U.S. Air Force, he served with distinction as an officer and Weapons Controller, earning the Bronze Star Medal for his actions in Vietnam and later receiving the prestigious Meritorious Service Medal for his outstanding contributions to the service.
After David retired from the United States Air Force, he moved a couple more times before settling in Colorado Springs. Here he began working for the Olympic Training Center, NASA Space Foundation, Silver Key, and Airport Ambassador.
He had served as an elder in the Academy Christian Church community and sang beautifully in the church choir. He was also a proud member of the 1956 College World Series baseball team from Bradley University.
David is survived by his devoted Wife Elaine, Brother Steve Wright (Brenda), Sister Kathleen Weston (Sam), his children John Wright (Angie), Tom Wright, Susan Jantzen (Joel), grandchildren Jennifer Kohout (Brett), Benjamin Williams (Andrea), Zachary Williams, Nick Jantzen and great grandchildren Charlotte & Ezra Williams, and Everett & Bennet Kohout.
A Public Viewing will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday June 3rd followed by a Memorial Service with a Reception at 11:00 am, a Committal Service with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 pm at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, please arrive promptly at 1:45 pm to Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
