

Deanna Ellen Stemler, 77, tragically passed away on the morning of March 23rd, following injuries sustained from a car accident. She was born in 1948 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Survived by her brother Tim McCandless. Deanna was preceded in death by her husband Ken Stemler, as well as her parents Charles and Wildon McCandless, brothers Dave and Dan.
Deanna graduated from Englewood High School in 1966 and went on to build a career as a secretary first with Frontier Airlines corporate office and later as the secretary to the director of the Pro Rodeo Hall of Champions. In 1979, her work brought her to Colorado Springs when the organization relocated there - a move that would shape the next chapter of her life.
In December 1986, Deanna married Ken Stemler, beginning a loving partnership that lasted until Ken's passing in 2011.
Deanna was a devoted wife and faithful follower of her Saviour, Jesus Christ. Her faith guided her life and was evident in the compassion and warmth she extended to others. She truly never met a stranger, greeting everyone with genuine kindness and consistently putting others before herself. Deanna was a faithful member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, serving in the music and multiple adult and children's ministries. A life devoted to serving others, guided by unwavering faith and sustained by an enduring love that never faltered. Deanna's caring spirit and constant witness will be deeply missed.
The funeral service will be held at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 4280 Hopeful Drive, Colorado Springs, CO, on Friday April 3rd, 2026, at 10:00am. Deanna will be buried at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO at 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests donations be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church's Missions Program. This ministry is dedicated to supporting numerous missionaries throughout the world.
