Dee was born October 26, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois to Jacob Andrew and Leona Voigt Westerhoff. She was the second of four children. Dee grew up in Chicago and Gilman, Illinois and graduated from Gilman High School in 1956.
Dee met her husband, Clayton B. Hale, in 1958. They were married on January 23, 1959. Together, they moved throughout the country and raised two children.
Dee is survived by her daughter, Laura Vallado (David), and her son, Michael C. Hale (Margaret), as well as her sister, Eileen Westerhoff Snowden (Donald). She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Dee is preceded in death by her husband, Clayton; her brothers, Robert and Paul Westerhoff; and her grandson, Samuel Vallado.
A memorial service to celebrate Dee’s life will be held at Family of Christ Lutheran Church (675 W Baptist Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80921) on Friday June 28, 2024, at 10:00 am.
A graveside inurnment service will be held at Forest Lawn Memory Garden (1977 S State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143) on Saturday July 13, 2024 at 10:00 am.
