Delorous Jean Combs

Delorous Jean Combs, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on September 30, 2017 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born in Lannius, Texas to William Hamilton and Anna Ailene (Taylor) Davis on September 19, 1935. When she was 5 years old her family moved to Dumas, Texas and grew up there. She was married to Stuart Edward Combs in Dumas, Texas on February 20, 1952. Stuart preceded her in death in May of 1998. Stuart and Jean lived in Dumas, Texas for 1 year; and completed 64 years in Colorado Springs, Colorado. For years Jean worked for Olan Mills, Product Development, kept books for Just Rite Lawncare, then she had a lot of ministry opportunities with a ministry license from Full Gospel Churches International. She leaves behind of legacy of a wonderful family to carry on the ministry that she has taught them all to be strong in the Lord with all of your might! Her son Bruce (Cindy) Combs of Colorado Springs, CO and their 4 sons Benjamin (Sarah) Combs of Bellevue, Nebraska (4 greats Ericka, Araceli, Rianna and Jimmy), Bryce Combs of Nunn, CO, Austin Combs and Justin Combs of Henderson, CO. Her daughter Brenda (Stephen) Stallard of Colorado Springs, CO and their 3 daughters Jennifer Bullock of Colorado Springs, CO (3 greats Joshua, Jonah and Marissa), Julie (Ricco) Adams of Colorado Springs, CO (4 greats Amara, Ky-Mani, Keonia and Kyrie) and Jamie Stallard of Colorado Springs, CO. Her daughter Sonja (Tad) Dean of Colorado Springs and their 1 son Trevor Dean of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Her sister Peggy (Richard) Daniel of Colorado Springs, CO and their family of 3 sons David (Kelli) Bird (their daughter Chara and son Aaron), Douglas (Beth) Bird (their son Michael (Alea) Bird and grands (Marin and Milo)(their daughter Heidi (Derek) Schatza and grands (Riley, Layne and Landon), (Alan Bird and grands Brandon (Janay) Bird, Tiffany Bird, and Candace Bird. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Stuart Combs, her parents William Hamilton and Anna Ailene Davis, her in-laws Edward and Edith Combs and Brother-in-law Charles D. Bird. Visitation will take place on October 5, 2017 from 10:00-11:00 a.m., at Mountain View Mortuary at 2350 Montebello Square Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80918 with the celebration of life following at 11:00 a.m. Private burial will take place at Memorial Gardens, Colorado Springs, CO. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. (i.e. American Diabetes, American Heart Association, or ministry of your choice in honor of Jean Combs).
