5 years ago my world changed forever with your passing.  I still remember that horrible day as if it were yesterday.  The phone call from your Mother…  I’ve got bad news…  Dennis was in a car accident… he didn’t make it…  Then the screaming that came out of me from the depths of my soul for what seemed like an eternity.  It was one of my darkest days.  For weeks I barely functioned, thankful for the ability to work from home as I wasn’t handling it very well.  Then the many, many months where I cried about it every single day asking over and over again WHY it was you when there are so many bad people in this world that don’t deserve to be here and you were taken.  I will never understand why.  When you left, I feel like a part of me left with you. I lost my place, my comfort, the person I trusted with everything.  My world was better because you were in it.  To this day, it has probably been the worst news I’ve ever gotten even after being told I am now a Stage IV cancer patient that is not curable, only treatable.  I believe God took you first so when it’s my time you would be there waiting to meet me.  I know in my heart I will see you again.  There isn’t a day that goes by where I haven’t thought of you & missed you.  I miss you more than I know how to say.  No matter where this life goes, you are always with me; you'll always live within my heart, forever you’ll stay.  Love you and miss you always.

It's been 5 years, and I can't believe it's been that long. I miss Diane telling me all about your interactions. And, of course, seeing you when we came home. You were one of a kind and we lost a beautiful soul. Wish you were here.

You would have been 68 today.  I wish you were here and we were meeting up somewhere to celebrate your day – even though it was always low-key, just the way you wanted it.  I often wonder what you would be doing with yourself if you were here.  I know retirement was the plan and I’m sure you’d be staying busy with your projects and helping others as we all know you couldn’t stay idle for very long.  You were one of a kind.  Happy Heavenly Birthday.

Hard to believe you’ve been gone for 4 years, I still think of you often and miss your friendship.

July 8, 2024 - 4 years…  Unbelievable that it’s been this long since you left.  I’ve never quite gotten over it.   Not a day goes by that I don’t think about you and miss you.  I get through each day, but things will never be like they were before you passed away.  Life is so fragile, and it can change in an instant.  It’s been very difficult learning to live without you.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wanted to pick up the phone to tell you the latest events.  You were my go-to for everything.  Life without that piece of you is a new life indeed.  It is a new world when the person you miss the most is no longer here.  Everything looks different; it’s just not the same.  For me, you made the world a brighter place and now it seems very dim at times.  There is a saying that if you miss someone, it means you were lucky.  It means you had someone truly special in your life, someone worth missing.  I miss your presence & I will always treasure our memories.  You will always be in my thoughts and in my heart, today and forever.  Love you and miss you always.

Another year has gone by, and yet it seems like yesterday that you left us. You're still talked about in our household, and I wish you were there to hear it.

You've been gone 3 years today. Sometimes it feels like this just happened and the wave of sadness hits me.  It's still hard to believe you’re not here. It’s like a horrible nightmare.  I feel like a part of me died with you that day. Grief never ends, but it changes.  Grief stays long after the rest of the world moves on.  I think about you and miss you every single day.  I was so incredibly lucky to have Dennis as my friend.  I treasure the memories of our friendship.  There is a void in the hearts of us who knew and loved him. Life will bring tears, smiles and memories, and for me the memories and sadness of this will never go away.  People come and go, but once in a while, you meet certain people who you know are going to stay in your life forever.  The ones that you can laugh and cry with, the ones that stick by your side.  You know, the once in a lifetime kind of people.  This is the kind of person Dennis was, so it makes this that much harder.  For me, he was simply the best person you could ever ask for to be in your life. The people we miss the most are the people we never imagined living without.  Today you are not forgotten.  You’re always in my thoughts and my heart.  Love you and miss you always.

My heart is broken that Dennis has passed away.

Happy Heavenly Birthday, Dennis.  You would have been 66 years old today.  Retired, enjoying life.  I went to Home Depot and Lowes today in your memory.  I remember all the times we'd go there and wander around.   Missing you as usual.  Lots and lots of hugs.

2 years it’s been since Dennis left this world, 2 years without his presence and a lifetime ahead of trying to normalize a life without him here.  Where has the time gone?  There are days where all of a sudden it feels like a wave hits me that you’re no longer here.  I can’t even bring myself to delete your number from my phone.  I tell you every day how I wish you would have stayed home that day after we talked and how I wish you would have worn your seatbelt whenever you got in your car. I’ve screamed & cried and asked WHY you didn’t because you’re not coming back from this.  I cry as I write this because I miss you so much & I wish I could go back and change that day so it wouldn’t have happened.  As the years go by and you are no longer here, I realize that this sadness will never truly go away.  There isn’t a day that goes by that I don't wish you were still here.  You are never forgotten and forever loved by all of us.  I wish we would have had more time together and I’ll always value the time we did have.  Love you and miss you always. 

2 years and it's unbelievable that you're gone. I can't think about you without tearing up and getting a sick feeling in my stomach. When I used to talk to my sister, every conversation had "Dennis helped me with....... " , "Dennis and I ate  at ......,",  Dennis, Dennis, Dennis. You two were a team and she misses you terribly.  Rest in peace my sweet "brother-in-law."

One year ago today God called you home.  The moment you left the world, my heart changed forever.  Life hasn’t been the same since.  Dennis left us all brokenhearted that day.  Anyone who was lucky enough to know him for a day or a lifetime knew that being with Dennis would make their day special and fun.  Dennis was my best friend; he was the other part of my heart.  I lost a piece of it the day he died.  Losing him has been the hardest thing I’ve ever had to live with.  He was always the best part of my life. He was the most selfless, giving, caring person who always willingly helped anyone.  Dennis packed a lifetime of good into one that ended entirely too soon.  The pain is as real today as it was a year ago.  Trying to move forward continues to be extremely hard.  I miss him more than anyone can imagine. There is a huge void I feel by not having him here any longer.  I am broken.  I struggle each day to accept life without him in it.  Missing him isn’t the problem – it’s knowing that he’s never coming back that makes this so hard.  And today it’s the anniversary of the day you went away.  I wonder if you know how much you are missed by everyone; there are so many great memories.  Even though you’re not physically here, your heart is – it lives on within me.  It’s not too often that God sends people our way that truly touch us.  Dennis was that person for me. I would often tell people if you could have someone in your life as good and kind as he was, you were truly blessed.  He was my family & family is knowing a person has your back, and Dennis always had mine as I did his.   I will never understand why/how this tragedy could’ve happened to such a beautiful, kind, and amazing person.  It still doesn’t seem real.  Love the people God sends you.  One day he’ll need them back.  Thank you for being a part of my life.  You will always be in my thoughts and in my heart, today and forever.   Love you and miss you always.  

It's hard to believe it's been a year.  We think of you, and talk about you, all the time.  And we miss you like crazy!

Today is your heavenly birthday.  I tell you everyday how much I wish you were still here with us.  We would have met up and had lunch somewhere at some dollar menu place because you never wanted anyone to make a fuss over your birthday.  I know I am not alone today in thinking of you - many people are and it is so hard that you are not here with us. You may be gone from my sight, But you are never gone from my heart.  Love you and miss you so very much.

I worked with Dennis for many years at Current. He was always very polite and respectful of everyone he came in to contact with. I am very saddened to hear of his passing. I have good memories of working with him and will cherish them. He was one of the good guys. A true gentleman.

I worked with Dennis in the envelope  department at Current. Dennis was always so easy going, soft spoken and a hard working kid (he was younger than me). He always got along well with everyone he came in contact with. I was shocked when Diane called me with the sad news. We truly lost one of the best. My condolences go out to the family and many close friends that Dennis made over the years. Peace Dennis.

Dennis, I was shocked,as well as everyone to hear the news of your passing. You were a great friend and right-hand man to me when we worked  at Current together. Your sense of humor always brightened up my day. You left us all too soon ! I'll be thinking of you often.

This will be the hardest thing I’ve ever written in my life.  From the day your Mom called me to tell me what happened, the tears haven’t stopped flowing.  I am devastated.  To know Dennis, was to love Dennis.  He got along with anyone.  I can’t imagine my life without you.  We’ve been in each other’s lives for 37 years, through good times and bad.  You’ve always been my constant, my rock I lean on.  Anytime I ever needed anything, I knew you would always be there, no matter what.  You helped me in so many ways with your mad skills of talent that others have mentioned.  There wasn’t anything you couldn’t fix or put together.  You’re the person I tell everything to, the one who never judges, the person who is just “there”, and now you’re gone.  It is so unfair.  You were so kind, generous, and you would help everyone.  There are no words to tell you the indescribable heartache I’m feeling right now.  Knowing I will never see your face come through my door again, knowing I’ll never get to talk to you ever again is one of the worst feelings I’ve ever had in my entire life.  Even though our relationship didn’t work out long ago, we stayed as close as 2 people can be all these years.  We were family & I always thought we would grow old together.  I never imagined in a million years that something like this would tear us apart so suddenly & thankful that we spoke on that final day.  I will cherish every moment we ever had together.  I will truly miss you the rest of my life and love you forever and I hope to see you again on the other side. RIP my beautiful soul.

First time I met Dennis, he was building a 2 story deck for my mother-in-law, he looked like spiderman just the way he moved around and built that thing.  I asked him if he needed help but he had it under control, everyone knows Dennis is the man!! Then when I went to the pm shop I was surprised to see him there.  He was a very talented and hard working man.  Always doing sidejobs and always willing to lend a helping hand.  He was very smart...should have been an engineer but we were blessed to have him work alongside us.  He was a very cool guy, always making people laugh, very patient, great teacher, thanks for all the great times Dennis!!

Dennis was a part of our family for 37 years. Not through marriage, but through deep friendship. He would do anything for anybody at any time. He treated people well and had high ethical standards. His sudden passing has devastated us. It's hard to imagine him not being in our lives any longer.  He was shy, but once you got to know him he shared his silly side. I pray God's for strength to the family for healing.

Dennis was a very classy guy. He was so knowledgeable about every building on Fort Carson as well as every piece of equipment in the building.   If you couldn’t find a building you could always call Dennis and he was always happy to help. I want to thank him for helping me all the times I was lost. I worked with him on my last day at the job. I am going to miss him. 

Dennis.... I'm in complete shock after talking to you the same day at work and then this happening to you...  I just want to tell you that I thought you were the smartest and most caring co.worker I have EVER worked with! SO many things you helped me get through at our age.  Your humor at the right time was so unreal. We had some good laughs. I am truly going to miss you. And I'm not the only one. THE WHOLE SHOP IS GOING TO MISS YOU SOOOO BAD!!!  YOU WERE TAKEN TOO EARLY!!!!!
