Dennis Richard Leamy Sr., age 78, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at UC Health Memorial North Hospital, Colorado Springs, CO. He spent his final moments peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.
Dennis was born in Northampton, Massachusetts to Francis Leamy Sr. and Olive Leamy. He lived a life filled with service, adventure, and deep devotion to his family. A retired U.S. Army veteran, he served proudly for 20 years before working in the United States Postal Service. He and his beloved wife, Chiyoko, celebrated 50 wonderful years of marriage.
In his youth, he trained in the art of Kung Fu and explored castles across Europe. He loved watching shows and movies with his family, working together to solve the Wheel of Fortune. He also loved playing various military-inspired video games and cherished every moment he spent with family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Chiyoko Leamy; his 2 children, Denise Martinez and Dennis Leamy Jr.; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer Killingbeck, Michael, Maria, and Myranda Martinez, Khalia, Nalani, and Aiden Leamy; and 1 great-grandchild, Emily Killingbeck. He is remembered dearly by all of his family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at Swan-Law Funeral Directors on Thursday, August 20th at 9:30 am.
