

Derek "Goose" Anthony Gosciniak, 34, of Colorado Springs, CO, left this world far too soon on September 30, 2024. He was born on November 23, 1989, at Fort Bragg, NC. Derek was a vibrant force of nature who lived life with an unmatched zest and infectious humor. He touched the lives of all that knew him with his heartfelt laughter and charismatic spirit.
Derek attended Southview High School, where he was known for his quick wit and ability to bring laughter to any room. After high school, Derek proudly served his country in the United States Army as an infantry paratrooper for 5 years, where he embraced the challenges and camaraderie of military life. His dedication to service did not go unnoticed earning him respect and admiration from his peers.He became a successful entrepreneur, but Derek considered his greatest accomplishment to be his son, Cooper.
More than anything, Derek was a free spirit. His dynamic presence was larger than life. His wit was quick, laugh contagious, smile genuine, and eyes captivating. He had a knack for turning ordinary moments into unforgettable adventures. His charismatic personality and mischievous grin could light up any room. Derek’s stories and antics were legendary, and he was always ready to take on the world with a smile and a joke.
Despite his wild side, Derek had a heart of gold. He was fiercely loyal to his family and friends and always the defender of the underdog. He had an uncanny ability to make everyone feel special and loved.
Derek is survived by his cherished son, Cooper Gosciniak; his wife, Isabelle Rivera Gosciniak; his parents, Ronald (Alice) Gosciniak and Karen (Jeff) Combs; his sister, Sydney (Kevan) Fox; his niece and nephew, Lauren and Mac Fox; his grandparents, Kirk (Dorothy) Gosciniak, Harold Murray, and Sherry (Dave) Kerridge; his uncles, Jared (Stacey) Murray and Eric Gosciniak; his aunts, Shari (Bill) Coulter and Nancy Murray; his cousins, Jeremy, Bryan, Tyler, McKenzie, Brooklyn, Madeline, and Carter; his stepbrother, Michael (Carla), stepsister Mehgan, and their children Bryce, Nova, and Illiana; and many special friends.
He was predeceased by his grandmother, Georgia Murray.
A memorial will be held in Derek’s honor on October 18th, 6:00 pm at
Courtyard by Marriott
