Desiree Danielle D’Gornaz left this earth to join our Lord in heaven on September 13, 2012. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on March 4, 1987. She was beautiful, intelligent, joyful, and caring. Desiree had the rare ability to “light up" any gathering with her presence. Her stunning “angel eyes”, radiant smile, and contagious laughter were beyond compare. She had a passion to help others and did on a regular basis. She was living proof that when you smile at the world, the whole world smiles back at you.
Desiree graduated from Liberty High School and attended Dallas Baptist University and Pikes Peak Community College. While in the Church Youth Group she performed mission trips to Alaska, Canada, and other places. She worked at Veda salon where she enjoyed being a make-up artist and an Aveda Advisor. She was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan. Desiree loved make-up, high-heeled shoes, and the color pink—clothes, purses, and even her bible.
Desiree is survived by her grieving parents: Luis and Edna D’Gornaz of Colorado Springs; her brother and sister-in-law: Sean and Allyson D’Gornaz also of Colorado Springs; her grandmother: Sylvia Trevino of Laredo, Texas; Uncles and Aunts: Marie Trevino of San Antonio, Texas; Abel and Barbara Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas; Ivan and Elizabet Rodriguez of Laredo, Texas; Lina and Ron Orr of Vienna, Virgina; and Silvana Garza and Mary Mayner of Annapolis, Maryland; as well as numerous cousins, many, many friends/co-workers at Veda Salon, and her beloved dog Chanel.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, September 19, 2012, from 5:00-8:00 pm at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs. A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Thursday, September 20, 2012, at 11 am at the same location.
Donations are encouraged for Pike’s Peak United Way or the Humane Society of Pike’s Peak Region in memory of Desiree D’Gornaz.
“…and the time has come for my departure. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me…and not only to me, be also to all who have longed for His appearing.” 2 Tim 4:6-8
